MISSION MINISTRIES
The definition of missions is "any approved missionary outside a local congregation with the focus of fulfilling the Great Commission by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ, making disciples and relating to the whole need of mankind, spiritually, and physically". For the Paramount Baptist Church Missions Ministries, this involves the sending of congregational members beyond the immediate influence of our church out into the community to evangelize, make disciples, train leaders, plant churches, and further the work of Christ.
Scriptural Basis for an Active Mission Ministry
- Commanded by Christ to “Love your neighbor as yourself”. (Matt. 22:36-40)
- Charged by Christ to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20)
- Modeled by Christ who sent his disciples to local and distant communities, to common and foreign cultures and languages. (Acts 1:8)
- Equipped so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God (Eph. 4:11-13)
- Compassion from Christ for the lost in the world. (Matt 9:36-38)
- Assurance from God who wants all men to be saved. (Jn 3:16-17; I Tim 2:3-4)
